ABOUT ORTHODONTICS APPLIANCES

You may need orthodontic appliances to assist with the success of your treatment. The on-site lab at Fine Orthodontics allows your orthodontist to carefully oversee the creation of your custom appliance, with immediate availability. Below are some of the options you may be presented with during your treatment.

ALIGNERS

Also referred to as clear aligner (eg. Invisalign*), clear aligners are custom-made to fit over your teeth and gradually move them into the desired position. Aligners such as Invisalign* should be worn for up to 22 hours a day for maximum effect.

For minor orthodontic corrections, we use a sophisticated 3D printing system to create the aligners onsite. This option provides excellent savings for our patients.

CANTILEVER BITE JUMPER

A common orthodontic problem is when the upper teeth protrude beyond the lower teeth. This condition can be treated with a cantilever bite jumper (CBJ).

If you have this condition, your lower jaw is likely positioned further back than it ought to be, and a CBJ will help to it move forward. Once the CBJ is fitted, we monitor and adjust it to ensure the best possible results.
